First day of summer class today. Can't believe it but I'm taking Canto 1. I still gotta do my math placement. Canto 1 is 4 long hours a day, 5 days a week for the next 3 weeks. Oh my my my....
Got my new blood donor's card today. Finally after a month and a half.

Polarity
Watching A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints.
Sad and good movie. Makes me satisfied (or less wanting) of where I am but sad about where other people are or have been. Things need to change.

Dreams
Went to the bank today with my dad to finally unlink my savings and checking accounts from theirs. The banker guy that we worked with, Don V. Orozco (got his business card) was a short, portly Filipino guy. Had the accent and all. He asked a lot of questions. He laughed a lot. Every time I answered a question he would laugh. I guess it was supposed to put people at ease but being the cynical and, I wouldn't say pessimistic but I see the worst in situations and people, I just thought he was so full of crap. He seemed like a nice guy though. Really weird though was that all the bankers around knew my dad by name. I guess we've been going to this branch of Wells Fargo for around 7 years so they should know. And my dad seemed to know everyone too. He talked to him about the people that left and new people. Connections.
So I ended up sitting there for around an hour while they did all the transactions stuff. Signed my name 4 times. Get a card in 2 weeks or so. I guess I'm supposed to feel more responsible, older, better, etc. but I don't really. A debit card is pretty much another, easier oppurtunity to spend money. I really need to learn how to save. And I really need to get a job.
I like/hate how my blogs are usually in the order that I recall the things that happened instead of chronological.
Went to pick up my diploma early today. A recent occurence has been that my internal clock has been waking me up exactly on time. I haven't set my alarm since the end of school but I always wake up on time for whatever is occuring. Grad I woke up early after sleeping at 3am. Other people's grad was the same. I would wake up at 10 when the grad starts at 11. Today I woke up at 9am right on the dot after sleeping at 4am. I didn't want to drive to school so I tried to get other people to. Lazy me. Originally Yvonne was supposed to take me but she was asleep until like 10. Janet said she could take me instead but Yvonne woke up and called me right when Janet signed off and I had to call to cancel. Fun fun. My diploma sucks. No Magna Cum Laude. I thought I got that. My GPA was above 3.5 for sure...I think.
Stop here if you'd like. The rest is reflective gibberish that I just need out of my head. It probably won't make sense and I hope it doesn't.
I'm realizing this is a pretty long blog so (is there a reason to?) I'll end it on a sad note. I hate it when things you plan on doing just don't happen. Personally it's usually due to my lack of action or my fear of failure. I realize now that I used to get "depressed" over these things. Not the cut myself boo whoo wear all black and hate the world. But there was this period of time where I would wallow in self pity and just sit there and think of how pathetic I could be. That was really stupid. Thank you hindsight.
There has to be a reaction when bad things occur, but it should be a positive reaction. Obviously there are ups and downs to this life (yay for cliche phrases!). Is looking back 20 seconds ago considered hindsight? Well if it is, hindsight says wow, this is all common sense. People have written books on this the last 200 years, and probably 95% of them have become best-sellers. But seriously do you really need a book that tells you something as simple as this?
Darn you non-chronological mind. I just remembered that at the bank while Don (the banker guy, not Don Vuong) was getting some paperwork my dad talked about getting me a car. I was totally satisfied with a used car, even a late 90s piece of gas efficient crap with no airbags. I guess I kinda grew up and realized that I need to stop being such a selfish person. Hehe never. But my dad was talking about APR financing and blah blah blah and he said that he'd rather spend double the price of a used car to get a new car with 5 years/0.0% APR financing blah blah blah and I was like HELL YEAH! I guess I might be getting a brand new car. But he said "family" somewhere in there so I guess I would be stuck with the old SUV. Oh well I'm satisfied.

In Sync
Arrived at the lip sync contest exactly on time. Things didn't get started until 7ish. There were actually only 7 groups contesting, and from what other people say (this was my first lip sync contest) that was very very little. It was really short too. 4 groups went. A lot of black people were there. A ton. There were also 3 or 4 black groups. Kory Harper was in like 3 different performances.
First group up was Brandon Williams with Nicole Hayes doing some 70s sounding song. Brandon dressed up in black slacks and shoes, a white sports coat, and a baby blue shirt (wow, crisp memory...). Nicole had a Ramones shirt (the one with the US seal except with Ramones on it), a leather jacket, black leggings, and a pink frilly skirt. She danced and sang and Brandon fake played a keyboard on stage. They did some cheesy 70s music video moves and stuff and fake kissed. It wasn't all that great, but still funny.
Second group was a pair of black chicks I have never seen in my life doing a mix of black songs. They did really good. They won third.
Third group was all girls (except for Kory). They did a mix too. It was really creative. One girl was Scary Spice, one girl was Britney Spears, and one was an artist I can't remember. They all started out with this plastic sheet thing framed by pink that represented a Barbie box and the "I'm a Barbie Girl" song played. There was this fake cardboard radio, and halfway through the song they would each switch it and it would change to a song by that artist. It was pretty cool. Kory Harper walked onstage the last song and switched it to MC Hammer's "Can't Touch This" and they danced. It was aight.
I am way too lazy to describe the rest now, so I'll do the one's I liked.
Marcus was awesome. He did a song that I did not know, but he was really good. As always. Sad that he didn't win anything.
Miguel's group did a crazy mix of Queen (Ride My Bicycle, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are the Champions), some hip hop songs and others all together. They were really really well coordinated and they had the best lip syncing and energy. They deserved to win 1st place.
It ended really early, around 7:40, and when Thy told Christina that she thought So You Think You Can Dance was on at 8, not 9 Christina made me rush her home so she could catch it.
Went home and I ended up finishing up econ notecards. The last I'll ever do. Tear.

Dear Blood Donor,
My name is Natalie and I am writing to thank you for helping save my life.
At eight months old, I was diagnosed with leukemia. During my first six weeks of chemotherapy, I received 27 units of blood and underwent a bone marrow transplant. Today, thanks to the successful bone marrow transplant from my sister, Nicole, and the generosity of blood donors, I am able to resume an active life.
Sincerely,
Natalie
A Grateful Blood Recipient
Blood Donors have an important role in saving countless lives like Natalie, as you may know, every three seconds, someone needs blood.
Blood Centers of the Pacific needs to collect approximately 140,000 pints of blood each year fromvolunteer blood donors. About half of the blood collected comes through our mobile blood drives from groups like yours.

Trekkie
The movie was pretty good. Action was intense, but I was totally lost during most of the story and inside jokes. They had a LOT of inside jokes. I mean even during the intensest action scene Scotty would shout a line and everyone would laugh except me. I guess that's what I get for that being my first ever Star Trek experience. Eric Bana did not look like Eric Bana, and every time Sulu (John Cho) had a line or was on screen I kept imagining Harold and Kumar scenes. Same with Spock (Sylar in Heroes). I just imagined him killing heroes from the first season.
One of the most incongrous (I totally do not know what that means right now, but it sounds right) moments in the movie was when Kirk was having this half naked makeout session in some dorm room of the space academy or whatever, and the girl he's making out with's roommate turns the light on and the chick he's making out with is a green chick. I was totally WTFed out. I have nothing against interacial, but interplanetary shit is crazy.
Oh yeah, there was this hella annoying fat old (late 40s early 50s?) guy that just wouldn't shut up. At first it was cool. He cracked a few jokes during the previews and stuff when everyone was talking anyways, but during moments in the movie he yelled stuff like "SPPPOOOOCCCKKKKK!!!!!" and tried to say something and it was pissing me off. At the end he yelled out "On a scale of 1 to 10 what do you guys rate this movie?" which elicited many responses. Some guys kept yelling 11, the guys dressed as Jedis stood up and kept saying "May the force be with you" to which some other guy responded "It's 10 years late dumbass" and then finally some guy in the back back row shouted out "Shut the FUCK up" which everyone basically did. Some little kids (middle school? elementary?) were like "yeah, shut up!" and the annoying dude kept saying "I kept quiet during the movie, honest guys!".
Other than that it was pretty good. Since my friend bought the ticket for me and lined up before hand I pretty much just walked into the theater without a ticket. The lady totally missed me and everyone (surprisingly) made space for me to walk up to the front of the line. If I return it I get a Golden Ticket, which means I can watch any movie for free. Should I be a cheapskate and do it or be honest?

Tada
Went around to check to see if a friend of mine was working the shift at Valencia. Was told a story about how last week Britney Spears stayed there and a lot of girls tried to bribe him to get them up to her suite. Checked out Diesel. They sell gross dude's underwear. Their mannequins even have like crotch plates that are extraneous to accentuate the tightness and fit of their briefs.
Went to pinkberry just to see if that chick was working there, negative. Decided whether or not to head to Fantasia and load up on more sugar, I resisted but my friend fell. Almond milk tea with pearls, $4.00. Not so good.
Hung out at Santana until like 8:20. Left for home dead tired, almost falling asleep at the wheel (yet again).
Got home at like 8:30, rushed to watch Lakers game. Second quarter til end, Jazz never got closer than 5 points. Predicted outcome: Lakers sweep series.
All in all an unproductive day, yet enjoyable. I feel a sense of regret in retrospect. Probably won't hit me until Friday. This blog was really brief and abbreviated, sorry. Don't expect a real blog post until the weekend when all this shit is done and over with.

Breaking Spring
Conveying sarcasm through text is quite difficult, so I will include this *sarcasm* after each sarcastic comment to clue you in, just in case you are sarcasm-detecting deficient.
Saturday, tried to wake up early, expecting to head out to a tux place and get hooked up with one. I slept at 3, which is like 2 hours past my normal bed time, so I ended up waking up at like 11. Texted Kevin, my tux buddy, and we proceeded on, albeit late. I was driving over to his house when he texted me that he called the place and that they were busy. DAMN. Drove all the way up to his nice ass house for nothing. Or not. We ended up watching like 4 movies (or snippets/large chunks or those 4 movies) on his MASSIVE tv. I swear that thing was like 6 feet accross. We watched Hot Fuzz (oh you silly British), Charlie's Angels (shitty as hell), Bourne Ultimatum (fuck yeah Matt Damon), and Zack and Miri Make a Porno. That last one is just fucking disgusting. I saw some dude's wang and sack like 4 times in one scene. Seriously. Yeah, Seth Rogen makes some funny ass movies, but this one is just stupid gross. Lame ass jokes and a scene playing homage to 2 girls 1 cup shit. Scarred me almost as bad as lemonparty. Never look that up.

Korea Tofu House
Remarkably, it is still in one piece, albeit cracked all over. Rest in peace bop-it.
After moving everything into the new house, we are rewarded with free dinner. So we hit up Korea Tofu House in Cupertino Village and boy is it good. I wish I had a camera then to take a picture. We each got our own clay pot of delicious goods. The waitress ladies kept speaking Korean, and none of us understood, so we just nodded our heads. But we got around good. Now if only I remembered the name of the dishes...
btw, Korea House is so much better. I need to go out and eat Korean food with a Korean. Volunteers?

Man this is depressing thinking about the future like that when my was and is being decided by these few weeks.
I realize now that I'm not that great with little kids. I sympathize too much with their contempt of authority figures as I was a smart ass when I was a kid. I just end up feeling like a hypocrite or undermining real authority.
I also need new socks. Maybe friday I'll head over to target or somewhere and pick up a few pairs of black socks or some socks that are more breathable for when I run. Nike ftw?

Crazyass Russians. Think bungie rope jumping except without a bungie rope but a rope rope. Yep...
Listening to a lot of Frank Sinatra and other oldies lately. Man swing is amazing. How simple the lyrics. Today's songs are all "sex sex sex" "money money money" "ridin' on 22s" and all that. Where is the I love you?

fix you
Oh went to swimming practice today to shoot for yearbook. I really wanted a Michael Phelps shot of someone doing the fly (for the non swim-term savvy, the butterfly stroke), and I got it kind of like half an hour into practice. I kind of made a side comment to the coach that swimming is really difficult to shoot yaddah yaddah and she replied "I can make them do the fly next, if that makes it easier for you." and I was like YEAHH.
Heavily photoshopped, increased exposure and contrast like crazy to get that coloring.

new shoes
Arrival. It was like 4:02. I was sitting there doing my English essay when my dad alerts me to the arrival of the package.
Let the unpacking begin. When I finally got the stupid plastic off (without the help of scissors) I found a ton of ads. Be tou gh anyone?
Total shoehead status.
Ta...
Da!
Now 10 minutes of hydration and stretching before I go for a test run. Hopefully the weather will stay beautiful and above 60 degrees, fahrenheit.

run run run run
In other news, I found out that the Nike Zoom Victory running shoes I wanted were on sale. I ordered them online wednesdayish during break and they finally shipped over the weekend. FedEx says they'll be here by thursday. $99.99 on sale for $79.99 with $15 off for President's day minus $40 from a giftcard with $6.99 shipping and CA tax brings it out to about $34.62. Awesome deal.
Here are the kicks I've been running in since sophomore year. $10 at big 5 courtesy of my asian dad. Incredible that it lasted this long.

H2O
Resolution: 5 minute showers until summer.
Sometimes when I shower for really long I start to think about all the water I'm wasting just to be comfortable for those 15 to 20 minutes. I start remembering all the National Geographic specials on how people in Africa have to walk 5 miles a day just to get water to drink.
Now I wonder, how is cutting my shower by 10 minutes gonna help people in Africa when the water I save is just sent down a canal to socal so some hollywood millionaire can take hour long baths?
10 days
While we were there, it snowed like crazy. I heard back in the bay it was raining away. Tahoe was like all the christmas specials. Beautiful carpet of snow. You could see the actual snow flakes falling. Weatherman said 21 degrees, fahrenheit. I didn't bring any snow clothes however. Shoes: authentics and rainbows. Jackets: AA and some fox jacket. Pants? Jeans and a pair of bball shorts. No gloves either, but I still managed to have fun.
12 hour ride back was ridiculously ridiculous. 12 hour ride. 12 hours talking. 12 hours of snow. 12 hours of random games. 12 hours of sleep. Weeks passed in that bus.
Don't let oppurtunities be wasted.

deny
Well, Radiohead (or only Thom and Johnny) and the USC marching band did 15 step at the grammy awards. It was pretty damn good.
CLICKETYCLICKCLICK
Sucks that the rest of the band didn't want to or couldn't make it over. Would've rocked even more. Coldplay won like twenty grammy awards for viva la vida (album and song). They did it live, then the song was played every single time they were nominated. It got really really annoying. It's like if you watched the trippy apple commercial with them in it over and over and over again. Kanye was pretty cool. He did American Boy with Estelle, wasn't that great, and there was a crazy TI/Kanye/Lil Wayne/Jay-Z rap that went a long with MIA and that pineapple express song.
Anyways, youtube recommended this for me and I clicked it, and now I feel sick when I think and probably when I see chipotle. Damn you youtube.

In other news, I headed to tartini's (froyo) afterwards and ate some good ass froyo. Mango tart anyone? I finally got a stamp card full, with the help of like 6 people on like 3 trips. Next time my yogurt will be free.
I bought tickets with some friends to see Wicked at the Orpheum theater in SF in June, right after grad. Too bad Idena Menzel and the other chick stopped touring. They are crazy good singers. Looking forward to it.

lookslikesomethingshotoutofatvscreenbang
Only for you, Audrey. Color accents are fun.
Well, I'm in a selfish mood right now, so I'm gonna list the things I've been thinking about getting but will probably not get until summer. I wish I were more thankful for the things I already have. Maybe some other blog post.
iPod shuffle (or the like)
Ever since I put my first gen nano in the wash 3 years ago, I haven't had a portable music player. I miss running with music. Now all I hear are my raspy, wet breaths, my heart complaining, and my mind wandering aimlessly. Since I'll probably end up smashing it, I'm thinking of picking up a refurbed one from the Apple store for like $40. Then I need running headphones, which are like $30.
Oakley Gascans (or maybe something cheaper but just as good looking)
Ever since I started driving I wanted/needed sunglasses. The sun, ever so warming and wonderful, is annoying/dangerous as hell when I'm driving. Anyone got $90 to spare?
Macbook (or something cheaper so the parents won't take such a big hit)
After going all over the place to study for comp sci without a laptop I felt that I needed one. But I don't really, so I'm perfectly fine waiting for one later in summer before I ship off to college (hope that I get in...). $1800 anyone?
Over and out.

A HUNDRED DOLLAR BILLS?!
"97 degrees, you're fine"
I went to target today after school. I wanted to buy a new water bottle (or "canteen" as singharaj calls it) since the lip on my old one cracked. Save the earth. Be environmental. Screw the plastic waterbottles. Valentines day always makes me depressed. Target was valentinesdayized. One whole corner was turned into Valentines day central and all the cards were valentized. Well back to business. I picked up a metal one, the perfect one, for about $12. Met singharaj there on a secret mission. Then back to home.
News flash! Well, I've been sick with the cough and the snot and the sneeze and the headache for about a week now, and when I was going through one of my gross coughing fits today, my mom got worried and made a doctors appointment for me at 6:45 today. I showed up like half an hour early to hopefully get an early spot and get out of there fast. No such luck. Seems that the entire world is suffering from the coughs and snot and the sneeze and the headache (otherwise known as the common flu). So, after about an hour waiting in the waiting room (sick bastards) the nurse brought me out of that disgusting room full of sick kids and into a sterile room, where I waited another hour before the doctor arrived. She was not my normal doctor, who went on call. Short Indian lady, heavy on the accent. It took about 5 minutes for her to go through the normal procedure. Check the temperature, perfectly normal, check the ear, normal, check the mouth, normal, then the stuff with the stethoscope, I coughed a few times, pretty normal other than the cough. So after 2 hours of waiting, she gives me some inhaler crap to deal with the cough and tells me to get rest and drink plenty of fluids. It should go away in a week is the pronunciation. So I guess I'm going to bed at 11 and hopefully I'll get fine over the weekend.
So I'm hearing rumors that the next unit in AP bio has a 200 question objectives part. Too lazy to check up schoolloop.
And after watching mythbusters on Chong's iPod, I've become an addict. DLing seasons 1-6 right now. Doubt I'll ever watch it all.
