Blood

I have not really blogged the past 2 weeks. Haven't been home other than to sleep really the past 2 weeks and it seems it will be like that this coming summer. My computer was barely on the past 2 weeks. And it will take up way too much space to blog the past 2 weeks, so screw it.

First day of summer class today. Can't believe it but I'm taking Canto 1. I still gotta do my math placement. Canto 1 is 4 long hours a day, 5 days a week for the next 3 weeks. Oh my my my....

Got my new blood donor's card today. Finally after a month and a half.

Polarity

Sometimes I wonder why I'm sad when I have no reason to be. Then I realize I'm watching a movie. Sympathetic sadness.

Watching A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints.

Sad and good movie. Makes me satisfied (or less wanting) of where I am but sad about where other people are or have been. Things need to change.

Driving along I5 it's all barren. Then around 30 after leaving sonics there's a solitary sunflower on the side of the road. Then after 10 minutes more.

Dreams

Leaving for LA tomorrow. Packing tonight. Sleeping early. I guess I'm driving first. Bright and early.

Went to the bank today with my dad to finally unlink my savings and checking accounts from theirs. The banker guy that we worked with, Don V. Orozco (got his business card) was a short, portly Filipino guy. Had the accent and all. He asked a lot of questions. He laughed a lot. Every time I answered a question he would laugh. I guess it was supposed to put people at ease but being the cynical and, I wouldn't say pessimistic but I see the worst in situations and people, I just thought he was so full of crap. He seemed like a nice guy though. Really weird though was that all the bankers around knew my dad by name. I guess we've been going to this branch of Wells Fargo for around 7 years so they should know. And my dad seemed to know everyone too. He talked to him about the people that left and new people. Connections.

So I ended up sitting there for around an hour while they did all the transactions stuff. Signed my name 4 times. Get a card in 2 weeks or so. I guess I'm supposed to feel more responsible, older, better, etc. but I don't really. A debit card is pretty much another, easier oppurtunity to spend money. I really need to learn how to save. And I really need to get a job.

I like/hate how my blogs are usually in the order that I recall the things that happened instead of chronological.

Went to pick up my diploma early today. A recent occurence has been that my internal clock has been waking me up exactly on time. I haven't set my alarm since the end of school but I always wake up on time for whatever is occuring. Grad I woke up early after sleeping at 3am. Other people's grad was the same. I would wake up at 10 when the grad starts at 11. Today I woke up at 9am right on the dot after sleeping at 4am. I didn't want to drive to school so I tried to get other people to. Lazy me. Originally Yvonne was supposed to take me but she was asleep until like 10. Janet said she could take me instead but Yvonne woke up and called me right when Janet signed off and I had to call to cancel. Fun fun. My diploma sucks. No Magna Cum Laude. I thought I got that. My GPA was above 3.5 for sure...I think.

Stop here if you'd like. The rest is reflective gibberish that I just need out of my head. It probably won't make sense and I hope it doesn't.

I'm realizing this is a pretty long blog so (is there a reason to?) I'll end it on a sad note. I hate it when things you plan on doing just don't happen. Personally it's usually due to my lack of action or my fear of failure. I realize now that I used to get "depressed" over these things. Not the cut myself boo whoo wear all black and hate the world. But there was this period of time where I would wallow in self pity and just sit there and think of how pathetic I could be. That was really stupid. Thank you hindsight.

There has to be a reaction when bad things occur, but it should be a positive reaction. Obviously there are ups and downs to this life (yay for cliche phrases!). Is looking back 20 seconds ago considered hindsight? Well if it is, hindsight says wow, this is all common sense. People have written books on this the last 200 years, and probably 95% of them have become best-sellers. But seriously do you really need a book that tells you something as simple as this?

Darn you non-chronological mind. I just remembered that at the bank while Don (the banker guy, not Don Vuong) was getting some paperwork my dad talked about getting me a car. I was totally satisfied with a used car, even a late 90s piece of gas efficient crap with no airbags. I guess I kinda grew up and realized that I need to stop being such a selfish person. Hehe never. But my dad was talking about APR financing and blah blah blah and he said that he'd rather spend double the price of a used car to get a new car with 5 years/0.0% APR financing blah blah blah and I was like HELL YEAH! I guess I might be getting a brand new car. But he said "family" somewhere in there so I guess I would be stuck with the old SUV. Oh well I'm satisfied.

Goodbye

Grad practice was tiring. Even though I slept at 2 and got around 7 hours of sleep I was tired. Got there early for practice, parallel parked in traffic (YEAHH!!! I feel so damn good) and chilled in line forever. It took them an hour before they (Mrs. Jones and ASB future and present) started to line us up. Then it took another half hour before we actually went in. Then it was an hour of "rehearsal" where no one payed attention.

Had to give Lynna a ride home afterwards cuz I forgot to bring my extra ticket for her. I ordered like 13 but ended up only using 12. Had to give Kathy a ride home too. I was so tired I spaced out while driving and ended up driving in a big circle around berryessa instead of taking the direct route down jackson. Silly me.

Afterwards I was supposed to go with Kathy when she got her tragus (had to google that one) pierced. I forgot though and she ended up going by herself. She ended up calling and telling me what a waste of $75 it was and how she thought it looked ugly. HAHA!

Real grad time. Showed up way early and the same thing happens. They take an hour before we go in and we don't even follow what the rehearsal was. I kinda fell asleep in the beginning but Marissa woke me up. Sylvia was fun to sit next to. We pretended to be siblings (cuz we had the same last name in case you didn't know). We've sat next to each other at major school events since middle school cuz of our last names. Her and her sister are twins holy crap. Crazy stuff.

Afterwards was your typical mad hunt for friends and people you will probably never see again until the high school renunion in 20 years. Joy.

Goodbye and enjoy.

Immortalized

Maybe I'll blog about this later. (Like I ever do)

//Stupid thing won't let me post pics. If you are willing check out the link. I'll edit this later after grad practice. Speaking of that, I'm gonna head to sleep so I won't be stupid tired during practice and subsequently (WHOA! SAT words!) screw up during the actual graduation.//

Yay it worked. I'll tell the story later I guess.

Alright I will do it.

The day started with Chaboya grad. Went to see a friend's little brother grad. 3rd year in a row I've gone to a Chaboya grad, and boy they are all the exact same. Same speeches, same spot to sit in, same everything! The parking is always a pain too. I parked in some obscure side street which I forgot the name of and the location. It took me 20 minutes to find my car and by that time I was pretty much late for the MV grad. Thank God for the carpool lane.

Ended up at a friends house at around 5:45. Argued over whether we had the balls to do shirtless or shirts. Shirtless it was. Painted fast. The paint was cold. It was gay as hell 5 shirtless guys painting each other purple and gold (coincidentally it was a Laker game that night). Drove way too fast in an area where cops are regulars. Parked a half mile away because the grad already started and we ran ran ran all the way there. I was in flip flops and that was the worst run I've ever done. I forgot to mention the fact that when I was driving the paint started cracking on my abdominals area. Hurted. Since we got there late we had to start in the back and when we tried to sneak up the center aisle the stupid lady there was on her rag or some shit cuz she wouldn't let us past. We almost missed Silas's name and when we ripped our shirts off the lady was like "PUT YOUR SHIRTS BACK ON!"

The best part was afterwards. It got cold though. Many pictures with many people and a lot of WTF faces. Some cougar bitch said something like "hey handsome". It was just weird. Kept track of the game on a friend's G1 but that's no fun. Caught the 2nd half (6 minutes into the 3rd quarter) at a friend's house. It was a tense game. Me and my friend noticed we had L and A in purple and gold and we decided to stand together and chant. Was fun. Had a great dinner. Homemade Indonesian food! Watched Toy Story until 12:30ish and rushed home.

Around

Senior meeting at the football field. I ended up going 15 minutes late and I guess (and I really hope...) I didn't miss anything. Sitting in the hot sun was crappy. Standing in a long ass line on the football field was not fun. Took forever to get our free tickets. Then we had to go into yet another line at the bank to get our tickets we ordered. I decided to skip the line and hit up McDonalds with Kathy. Saw Mr. Dolci there. I didn't know him but Kathy had him for gov/econ so she said hi and he joked about how she wasn't supposed to get that extra credit and stuff. His moustache was so distracting. It was all I could stare at when he was talking. Then me and Kathy decided to name it. I forget what we named it.

I got a Hazelnut Iced Coffee ($2.19) which tasted like crap. Kathy got herself some McNuggets and finished it before we even got back to school. The line was thankfully gone by the time I got back. Got only 7 extra tickets though.

Picnic not

Didn't go to senior picnic. Regret it somewhat after hearing some stories. Ended up visiting some people at EVHS. Got chased by cops in the parking lot. Ran back to my car and waited it out. Snuck in with the PE kids. Chilled in some AP Chem class, watched a movie, watched the chem teacher explode a diet coke and mentos experiment. Went to a Spanish 2 class. Listened and fell asleep to Spanis.

Went home and ate and I slept from 4 - 9. WTF. I've never napped like this while not being sick. My contacts turned my eyes crazy bloodshot. Like pothead bloodshot.

Last Day

Last day of school. Typical last day. No need to describe. Not going to the last dance. Or didn't go should I say. I have no excuses. Tickets were 25 cents, so I can't say too expensive. I never really liked school dances. I really have no justifiable reason other than personal preference.

I also decided (after my mom lectured me again) to clean up my shit. I did recycle a lot of school stuff before already, but I still had a huge pile. I started with my computer desk. Man. The English stories and stuff I was supposed to turn in was all there. Darn. Wasted paper. My mom used to keep all that stuff in boxes and whatnot. You know, like the Asian pack rat parents that have all your grades and stuff. It was dumb. We ended up recycling it too. A lot of AP books. I should put them up for sale.

Still hasn't hit me that high school is over. Maybe after grad. Shit. I hope I do cry. If I don't I'm a heartless bastard. I need to read more books. And use the computer less. And even out my damn tan. And actually get into going to college, even though it's De Anza (glorified high school) where I'll see roughly 20% of the senior class.

Scrubs is always a good laugh.

Mnemonic devices are crazy. Last day tomorrow. Shit. Goodbye.

In Sync

Lip sync contest was today. I totally didn't know that until Christina texted me and told me to go. Left the house at 6 to pick her up and go grab some unhealthy Taco Bell. We were both craving a taco salad last night around 10pm, but we decided to wait. She got the salad. I got me a pair of chalupas. Mmmmm. I wasn't that hungry and ended up only eating one and a bit of her salad. Taco salads totally defeat the point of salads. It's put in a huge chip bowl that screams calories and carbs, comes with a HUGE packet of sauce, has mexican rice on the bottom, and the "salad" leaves are just diced lettuce or something. It did taste pretty good though. Totally not worth the $4.99 + 9.25% CA tax.

Arrived at the lip sync contest exactly on time. Things didn't get started until 7ish. There were actually only 7 groups contesting, and from what other people say (this was my first lip sync contest) that was very very little. It was really short too. 4 groups went. A lot of black people were there. A ton. There were also 3 or 4 black groups. Kory Harper was in like 3 different performances.

First group up was Brandon Williams with Nicole Hayes doing some 70s sounding song. Brandon dressed up in black slacks and shoes, a white sports coat, and a baby blue shirt (wow, crisp memory...). Nicole had a Ramones shirt (the one with the US seal except with Ramones on it), a leather jacket, black leggings, and a pink frilly skirt. She danced and sang and Brandon fake played a keyboard on stage. They did some cheesy 70s music video moves and stuff and fake kissed. It wasn't all that great, but still funny.

Second group was a pair of black chicks I have never seen in my life doing a mix of black songs. They did really good. They won third.

Third group was all girls (except for Kory). They did a mix too. It was really creative. One girl was Scary Spice, one girl was Britney Spears, and one was an artist I can't remember. They all started out with this plastic sheet thing framed by pink that represented a Barbie box and the "I'm a Barbie Girl" song played. There was this fake cardboard radio, and halfway through the song they would each switch it and it would change to a song by that artist. It was pretty cool. Kory Harper walked onstage the last song and switched it to MC Hammer's "Can't Touch This" and they danced. It was aight.

I am way too lazy to describe the rest now, so I'll do the one's I liked.

Marcus was awesome. He did a song that I did not know, but he was really good. As always. Sad that he didn't win anything.

Miguel's group did a crazy mix of Queen (Ride My Bicycle, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are the Champions), some hip hop songs and others all together. They were really really well coordinated and they had the best lip syncing and energy. They deserved to win 1st place.

It ended really early, around 7:40, and when Thy told Christina that she thought So You Think You Can Dance was on at 8, not 9 Christina made me rush her home so she could catch it.

Went home and I ended up finishing up econ notecards. The last I'll ever do. Tear.

Scrubs

Scrubs never fails to make me laugh. It's so damn funny and the story is pretty good for a comedy. I guess that's why it's been running for the last 8 seasons and going. The only other shows I watch as consistently as Scrubs was House and The Office. Other shows I watch whenever people tell me there's a good episode, and if I like it I'll watch more. Season 6 was a definite favorite. Especially the episode where the whole show was a musical. It might not seem like much with all those amazing operas and broadways out there, but seriously, have you EVER seen a 30 minute anything (show, movie, tv episode, youtube clip) that combines a medical drama with singing that swings the range from swing beats to a song about poop to a song about non-gay guy love to a tango song to a pop song to a sad song? How the hell did they come up with that?!

Last week of high school for the rest of my life. In Mr. Holly's words, "Happy monday folks, the last ever for you guys." My days are really shitty though. No reason other than attendance to show up for 2nd period. We don't even play basketball anymore because Enriquez isn't out there. 3rd period is just English, which I normally end up sleeping through. 4th period is econ, where we end up playing cards for 20 minutes after napping for the first 30 minutes while he lectures. 5th is yearbook, where nothing happens and I end up texting everyone that there are no more autograph pages. 6th and 7th. Bio. I usually end up going to physics just because they have video games. Sometimes I'll stay in bio to watch a movie or just sit there. No car so I can't ditch like everyone else. Sometimes I feel unlucky or worse off because I don't have a car (yet), but I do enjoy spending the very little time left in high school with friends. It all balances out.

Try to remain optimistic.

Scabs

I hate my stupid habit of picking scabs. I picked out 3 today and bled all over myself.

Econ notecards, English notecards, NBRs, all DONE. Most work I've done in a weekend in a long while.

Up

Up was an awesome movie. I wish I better/more/better adjectives. I need to expand my vocabulary. It was supposed to be my "birthday" thing with Kathy and Yvonne but some people ended up joining late. We wanted to watch the 3D version but when I checked online they sold out all the times except the 12:25am showing by 7pm. Crazy shit. When I got there the line stretched from the movie entrance all the way outside and around. It was crazy long. We ended up watching the normal version at 10:30.

I kept ruining the movie for Kathy. I totally predicted some stuff that I wont spoil for you guys that didn't watch it, but it was hilarious. Crazy inside jokes now.

OH and the Pixar short that they always do before their movie was ovation-worthy. It just keeps getting better. The Birds one was aight, the Alien Test Drive one was cool, but this was even better. Won't spoil it again though. Go watch it!

lucky

I hate my luck. I wish I was Irish. Maybe I'll be more lucky.

Henry's Hi-Life

Had my eyes checked today. I don't know if I ever said this, but my optometrist is pretty. Not hot status, not really "cute", but pretty. She looked like she was in her 20s but she was like 5'3".

Gramma came to visit for a week or two. All the way from socal. Yay!

Went out to eat with the fams for the bday since my mom and dad had work the night of my bday. Went to this place downtown right next to HP Pavilion (where jobros and Rod Stewart will be performing at in August apparently). Driving down that side street totally reminded me of 8th grade grad. Me with my spiky hair and braces. Oh man....

We found out about the place, Henry's Hi-Life after my dad saw it on travel channel. It's located in this hella ghetto ass area right behind HP Pavilion, but it's pretty high class inside. It was a bar/bbq and I ended up watching a part of the third quarter of the Cavs-Magic game (damn you Lebron) before being seated. The food was awesome. They have an open bbq so you can see the chef dude cook and the bread is fresh made in the oven right in the room. The salad was so-so. The bread was amazing. It was some thin bread with olive oil or something. Scrumptious. I got a full rack of baby back ribs with my dad and my mom and gramma shared a ribs and chicken plate while the sister got a fettucini or something. Ribs were amazing. Perfect texture, but not enough sauce in my opinion, but still good. The baked potato was crazy. Instead of the normal pile of sour cream, onions, butter, and bacon bits they used this chive butter that was *insert adjective synonymous with amazing*. Had plenty left over even though we all shared. Mmmmmm

Got an ugly ass haircut. I've never gotten a good one ever. Maybe I should just get a fade.

XVIII

I'm 18. I'm gonna go buy some stuff that 18 year olds can buy. Hopefully they'll card me and I can say "NIGGUH CHECK THIS OUT!" and flash them my ugly ass driver's license. Hello scratchers, cigarettes, and porn.

Rock Band BBQ

Had some fun today. Played volleyball and some football at Rainbow park. I got 2 bug bites on my arm. That's what I get for laying in the grass. Afterwards I went to a bbq at a friend's place. Played Rock Band from 8 - 11. 3 good solid hours. After a while playing some medium and hard modes, I decided we should all expert it on a song and we ended up doing Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. It took us around 6 tries before we got it all down. I pretty much ended up memorizing the guitar part. 94% YEAH! I'm such a loser. I tried doing both the singing and guitar part for All the Small Things by Blink 182 but I failed. I hated Guitar Hero, but somehow I end up liking Rock Band. Maybe it's because there's more people involved. Or it's sparking my childhood dream of becoming an awesome rock star and being rich and famous. Or maybe I was bored.

On the way home getting off McKee and Capitol there were probably 20 cops blocking the entire right side of McKee near El Baron Rojo (that one Mexican bar on the corner). I couldn't see what was happening but there was a box of police cars around some cars and a group of people. Drunk brawl gone bad? Maybe. Scary though. Reminds me how ghetto east side is...

Flashback to yesterday. I went out to eat soul food. Some place down in Sunnyvale called H. Butler's BBQ. All black people in there. The lady was hella nice. She was this big black lady with that accent. When she talked to us it felt like we were part of the big black family or something.

The food was pretty damn good but there wasn't that much for what you pay for. Fried catfish, some wings, and some ribs with corn muffins and fries. The wings were awesome, but dry. Same with the ribs. You pretty much had to lather everything in BBQ sauce.

Food escapades!

Regrets

I hate regretting things. I always regret it. It's an endless cycle. Maybe I should just not be lazy and make good choices in the first place. Oh well.

I've totally fallen behind in music. I used to be an addict, scanning artist pages and downloading the latest music. I'm still somewhat of an audiophile (just without the budget to be a legit one), but I've stopped illegally downloading music. Someday I'll catch up. In the meantime (is that really a word?) I guess I'll brush up on classics.

Oddly I've also gotten a little bit more into art. I used to hate art. Mainly because I couldn't draw for shit. I was the prototypical "engineer" type artist. I drew things with straight lines and right angles. I used to love drawing cars. I loved drawing buildings. I found an old ass sketchbook from around 5th grade with about 15 pages of sketches. Man did I suck. I'm thinking maybe I'll pick it up again and try.

I really hate the "independent" people. The people who claim to be anti-mainstream but promote their own version of mainstream which they call independent but is actually mainstream. It really really pisses me off when they claim an artist that no one knows as the best and that the popular artist with skills isn't just because everyone knows them. Fuck yeah John Mayer can play guitar. Just because he wrote Daughters doesn't make him a pussy. Yeah, Ray Lamontagne is good too.

Remission?

Dug deep into my picture archives. Road trip to Tahoe with some guys. According to the news it was one of the worst snow storms ever. Epic drive. Didn't get there until 3am.

Study

Went to "study" and help Christina and Kathy with the comp sci make up test today. At first we were supposed to be at Kathy's by 6, but Kathy and I both ended up taking a nap. I woke up at 6ish and ended up getting to Christina's by 6:30. Kathy knocked out and didn't wake up until 7ish, so I chilled at Christina's until that time watching her eat. Sounds stalker.

Went to Kathy's and ended up watching the Lakers play the Nuggets while half studying. Did some econ. I didn't realize it was 9 until we went on a starbucks trip. It was supposed to be a grab and go, but we met some people who will remain unnamed there. Got me a triple shot espresso just for the hell of it and now I'm all twitchy but I think I can sleep. I'm gonna try after giving blood since I almost fainted today. FLASHBACK MOMENT!

So today I got my pass to donate blood 3rd period. Mrs. Childs wouldn't let me out until the time on the paper (10:15) so I had to sit in class for 10 minutes reading a stupid short story. Last time I went I ended up spending 2 hours waiting in the interview line, but this time I went earlier and I got it done fast. Since my name was spelled wrong on the records for the Blood Centers info thingy that I did last time, they couldn't find my records from last time when I gave her the license. I then gave her my Blood Centers card and she started tsking me and giving me this huge ass lecture about how small handwriting will screw up my future. Good thing I had my caprisun to distract me.

Onto the blood sucking: The lady that did it really sucked. She missed the first time sticking the needle in. I didn't notice since I was distracted by my phone, and I only noticed when I heard the faint "oops". Not good. I turned and she pulled it slightly out, wiggled it, and pushed it in the other direction. It hurt a little and my heart started RACING. Like crazy. I got hella dizzy and I felt crazy tired in about 30 seconds, and they told me it was my body's natural reaction when something goes wrong when you are stabbed with something. Story of my life.

Back to the present: not supposed to reveal names here, but what happened was after 30 minutes @ sbucks we left and headed back to Kathy's for more study and some guy followed us half way. He like stopped and shut off his lights everytime we stopped at a light. It was hella scary. I got hella paranoid. Anyways I'm gonna try to sleep early. Replenish my lost energy. Maintain homeostasis.

Dear Blood Donor,

My name is Natalie and I am writing to thank you for helping save my life.

At eight months old, I was diagnosed with leukemia.  During my first six weeks of chemotherapy, I received 27 units of blood and underwent a bone marrow transplant.  Today, thanks to the successful bone marrow transplant from my sister, Nicole, and the generosity of blood donors, I am able to resume an active life.

Sincerely,

Natalie

Cluck You

My internet got messed up last night when I was writing this at 11:30ish so I guess I have to post it today. Imagine it like yesterday.

Had an ortho today. Only for an x-ray though. Normally I sit in the waiting room for like 20 minutes to an hour waiting for some damn kids to be done then it gets to be my turn, but today since it was an early day (awesome) I headed in at around 2 and got in no problem. Walked right in. They threw on this heavy lead (I assume) vest to protect my important body parts (I guess my brain isn't that important) from the crazy radioactive energy that they were about to bombard me with.

The machine they used was one of those things you only see in tv med dramas like House or ER. I had to stand and bite onto this thingy to keep my teeth in perfect position, then I had to position my forhead on this headrest to keep posture and they adjusted this thingy (for lack of better word) to my height and then told me to stand absolutely still or I was screwed. Everyone left the room and someone pressed a button and all of a sudden this array started rotating around my head making crazy ass noises and I hoped that I would attain some super power while imagining everything going wrong. Afterwards they pretty much kicked me out.

Fantasia was playing in the waiting room.

Afterwards I had about 2 hours to kill before Bonnie would swing by and take me out to Cluckies, now called Smoke Eaters (WTF?!) for helping her with econ test index cards. I did it for free for Daniel twice, but since she offered I would feel bad (NOT) if I turned her down. Since it was Thursday we had tenders, and boy were they good. First time with the tenders. Every time I've been there I've had the wings. I guess I have a new favorite. Honey mustard sauce was so much better than traditional.

Spent around an hour there. Service was surprisingly fast. Normally it takes forever to get seated due to the mass of college people from SCU, but this time was different. I guess since it was only 6. Watched the Celtics - Magic game and some hockey and caught up with Bonnie on happenings. Girls gossip 24/7. Right afterwards we decided to pay a surprise visit to Kathy at her new job. On the way Bonnie spotted a 7-11 and yelled out something about a craving for a slurpee and we got some. She treated so I got a big one (which I didn't finish and ended up tossing). Mmmmm Apocalypse Orange is good.

Showed up at the cheese steak place and Kathy didn't spot us, so I decided to walk and up order really loudly. I got some onion rings, and she didn't notice at first and while I was looking down looking for cash she screamed really loudly which scared the shit out of me and all the customers and ran to the back. Hehe. The hella beaner coworker (found out he was named Ivan) had the classic WTF look on his face.

Chilled for about an hour and headed home.

In real today, bbq during Luc. I totally forgot there was going to be a bbq, so I ate a big breakfast and I ended up eating a burger, a hotdog, and half of Lynna's hotdog cuz she couldn't finish it. Mr. Luc put up Marley and Me for people to watch, but most people ended up outside conversationalizing or inside watching the nerds play Left 4 Dead. I am so down to play that now. Sucked in.

Oh and Jennifer Anniston is still pretty. Sucks that she's old and smokes a pack a day. Damn you nicotine.

Played basketball during 6th to work off those burgers and also the food from clucks. Did terrible. Can't guard Fred for shit. Spent 7th in Aberle's watching them play again. It was like some crazy asian internet cafe with 5 laptops and a huge crowd or physics nerds watching it. They even cheered. Aberle, Ken Cheng, and the super nerds were playing dungeons and dragons. I spent my time talking to Kathy or watching people play. Not so fun but I needed to cool down. Aberle had this small fan going and I commandeered to enhance the evaporation of the sweat coming out of my pores to reduce my inner temperature. Yeah. That's what I got from ap bio all year.

JD

Yay 2 days after prom.

After prom party wasn't even a party. It ended up being a chill hang out thing with a bunch of 08 people. "Practiced" beer pong since I was dd and couldn't drink. Watched college lacross highlights cuz espn was the only channel that worked on the tv. Pillow fighted the fuck out of Justin.

Me and some people got the munchies at like 2 am so I ended up driving Marcus, Yvonne, and Justin around searching for a McDonalds, except the closest one was closed. I drove all the way to Carls Jr and we all got some stuff to go. Carls Jr fries are pretty damn good. Chilled with Sandy for a bit and left around 4am (planned on leaving at 3, but someone had to start yakking and crying so I had to wait for them). Drove Yvonne home and got home late. I walk in with all the lights on and everyone asleep. I just knocked out and had to wake up early to take my mom out to Elephant Bar. Got mom a card signed by all of the family, but no roses this year. Elephant Bar is excellent. Got the shrimp platter (it had a really festive name, but I forget right now) and it was loaded. 15 srhimp total. Hella good. Now I need to run it off.

Trekkie

I feel so nerd, but I went to watch Star Trek on opening night. It wasn't preplanned. Someone called me up at like 5:00pm asking if we wanted to watch Star Trek, and I decided to go. Went to the 7:00pm showing. I totally expected a legion of Star Trek fans all dressed up, but the only people dressed up were these two hella nerdy white guys that dressed up as Jedis.

The movie was pretty good. Action was intense, but I was totally lost during most of the story and inside jokes. They had a LOT of inside jokes. I mean even during the intensest action scene Scotty would shout a line and everyone would laugh except me. I guess that's what I get for that being my first ever Star Trek experience. Eric Bana did not look like Eric Bana, and every time Sulu (John Cho) had a line or was on screen I kept imagining Harold and Kumar scenes. Same with Spock (Sylar in Heroes). I just imagined him killing heroes from the first season.

One of the most incongrous (I totally do not know what that means right now, but it sounds right) moments in the movie was when Kirk was having this half naked makeout session in some dorm room of the space academy or whatever, and the girl he's making out with's roommate turns the light on and the chick he's making out with is a green chick. I was totally WTFed out. I have nothing against interacial, but interplanetary shit is crazy.

Oh yeah, there was this hella annoying fat old (late 40s early 50s?) guy that just wouldn't shut up. At first it was cool. He cracked a few jokes during the previews and stuff when everyone was talking anyways, but during moments in the movie he yelled stuff like "SPPPOOOOCCCKKKKK!!!!!" and tried to say something and it was pissing me off. At the end he yelled out "On a scale of 1 to 10 what do you guys rate this movie?" which elicited many responses. Some guys kept yelling 11, the guys dressed as Jedis stood up and kept saying "May the force be with you" to which some other guy responded "It's 10 years late dumbass" and then finally some guy in the back back row shouted out "Shut the FUCK up" which everyone basically did. Some little kids (middle school? elementary?) were like "yeah, shut up!" and the annoying dude kept saying "I kept quiet during the movie, honest guys!".

Other than that it was pretty good. Since my friend bought the ticket for me and lined up before hand I pretty much just walked into the theater without a ticket. The lady totally missed me and everyone (surprisingly) made space for me to walk up to the front of the line. If I return it I get a Golden Ticket, which means I can watch any movie for free. Should I be a cheapskate and do it or be honest?

Collage

I guess I'll make this a counter to Johnny's post.

I'm pretty not excited about De Anza. Yeah, it's not bad at all. Top community college in the United States, located in Cupertino where there are some great froyo places and it's not ghetto. I'm just pretty peeved that I made some stupid decisions in high school. Snapping up hard classes was a stupid choice. I could blame the Asian parents, but they were off that after sophomore year so it was all me "challenging" myself.

-Gotta take summer courses (Math and Counseling 100 for sure)
-Get my TAG done so I don't become some lame ass jc kid that takes 3 years.
-Get my ass in gear so I get out ASAP

I'm happy I'm saving my parents a TON of money I guess, but just missing out on the first two years of college 'experience' is kind of making me sad. Sticking at home for the next two years doesn't sound that fun.

Hindsight is a bitch.

Tax?

Stupid recession. Stupid Arnold messing up the state of California. Stupid call today said we had to go to school because there was no swine flu. Oh well.

L & L

Went to Christina's to study for comp sci ap. Ended up going to L & L's Hawaiin bbq (finally...) to get some chicken katsu. Yumm. I had to cover everyone, and I ended up breaking a freakin benjamin for a $15 meal. Kathy owes me $5.25 + tax,  paid back in a meal. Bio objectives all night long.

I was in a mood for hip-hop, but it swung back to the rock type music. Strokes it is.

Tux

Today started earlier than I wanted. Waking up early to ask my mom if I could use her van, sleeping for another 2 hours, waking up to Kevin texting me about getting fitted. Driving all the way over to Campbell to get fitted, then driving home. Found out I could get a royal blue vest from Tuxedo Warehouse for $15, so now I have to drive back to Campbell since those bastards won't let me change my order over the phone.

Soccer dad status. Driving a minivan with 5 punks in the back. Thank you Audrey, for slamming the door in my face. All I wanted to do was to say hi to wolfy.

I found out today all of the crazy components and options in a tux. Cravats, hankies, shirt designs, vest designs. Cravats are ugly.

Corsage

Kanye concerts look epic. I was watching his Late Orchestration DVD where he did a private performance for like 300 people. All ladies string section? Check. Lupe showin up for only one song? Check. Common showin up for only one song? Check. John Legend in to play the same piano line and sing the same line over and over again for only one song? Check. Next Kanye concert that comes to HP or maybe even SF I'm hittin it up.

He can't sing at all though. Tone deaf or something. I guess that's why he raps and uses the autotuner.

STAR testing schedule is awesome. I wake up at lkke 10 and chill until 11:30ish and head out to school.

Prom is a bitch that sucks up a lot of money.

Celtics - Bulls is so going to game 7. I want the bulls to win.

Parks

Went out to play sports and generally get active today. I ended up falling asleep in the grass for like 30 minutes before a volleyball hit me.

Watching Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels.

British accents, British humor.

English Four

Stupid procrastination and school spirit.

Tomorrow I have a English presentation on John Steinbeck, Mrs. Childs FAVORITE author. I didn't start until today. Yay powerpoint and notes. ORIGINALLY I was supposed to present on the 27th, Monday, giving me the whole weekend. But for some DAMN REASON she moved it up.

After finding out Wednesday, I was determined to not procrastinate and start and hopefully finish the presentation by Wednesday night. I totally forgot when I got home, and the next morning (which was today) I wrote myself a reminder. I end up staying after school until around 5:30 watching tennis (GO TEAM AUSTIN KELVIN). Not so exciting, but somewhat exciting. Got home and watched tv and played videogames while half assing the presentation. I end up watching the Lakers game for a while, then head back to finish it up. Time to study the notes.

Lakers lost ): 86-88. Still 2-1 series.

Tada

Free ice cream at Ben & Jerry's was amazing. Met up with some people there. Saw a Lamborghini, a Ferrari, and an Aston Martin all in one day. When I got there it was about 6pm, and there was a line like 2 stores long. The line went fast, and some friends who arrived before me got a second round of free ice cream. I got myself a Chocolate Macadamia. It was really weak. Chocolate and some nutty ice cream swirled had a really vague flavor, but the milk chocolate covered macadamia nuts were delicious. Should've gotten the coffee coffee buzz buzz one.

Went around to check to see if a friend of mine was working the shift at Valencia. Was told a story about how last week Britney Spears stayed there and a lot of girls tried to bribe him to get them up to her suite. Checked out Diesel. They sell gross dude's underwear. Their mannequins even have like crotch plates that are extraneous to accentuate the tightness and fit of their briefs.

Went to pinkberry just to see if that chick was working there, negative. Decided whether or not to head to Fantasia and load up on more sugar, I resisted but my friend fell. Almond milk tea with pearls, $4.00. Not so good.

Hung out at Santana until like 8:20. Left for home dead tired, almost falling asleep at the wheel (yet again).

Got home at like 8:30, rushed to watch Lakers game. Second quarter til end, Jazz never got closer than 5 points. Predicted outcome: Lakers sweep series.

All in all an unproductive day, yet enjoyable. I feel a sense of regret in retrospect. Probably won't hit me until Friday. This blog was really brief and abbreviated, sorry. Don't expect a real blog post until the weekend when all this shit is done and over with.
Listening to sad stories makes me think, life is short.

Stick

Learned to drive stick today on a prelude. Stalled it like 5 times at least. Hondas are ridiculously sensative. Clutch, gas, brake.

I also cut my lip shaving this morning. Woke up due to a text message (this has happened to me the last 3 days...) from Kevin asking me if it was cool to head out to the tux place today. Rushed, showered, while shaving I went too fast and sliced a chunk of bottom lip off. Gross. Bled for the whole day. Maybe I should stick with electric.

Breaking Spring

Spring break started off wonderfully.

Conveying sarcasm through text is quite difficult, so I will include this *sarcasm* after each sarcastic comment to clue you in, just in case you are sarcasm-detecting deficient.

Saturday, tried to wake up early, expecting to head out to a tux place and get hooked up with one. I slept at 3, which is like 2 hours past my normal bed time, so I ended up waking up at like 11. Texted Kevin, my tux buddy, and we proceeded on, albeit late. I was driving over to his house when he texted me that he called the place and that they were busy. DAMN. Drove all the way up to his nice ass house for nothing. Or not. We ended up watching like 4 movies (or snippets/large chunks or those 4 movies) on his MASSIVE tv. I swear that thing was like 6 feet accross. We watched Hot Fuzz (oh you silly British), Charlie's Angels (shitty as hell), Bourne Ultimatum (fuck yeah Matt Damon), and Zack and Miri Make a Porno. That last one is just fucking disgusting. I saw some dude's wang and sack like 4 times in one scene. Seriously. Yeah, Seth Rogen makes some funny ass movies, but this one is just stupid gross. Lame ass jokes and a scene playing homage to 2 girls 1 cup shit. Scarred me almost as bad as lemonparty. Never look that up.

Appeals

I twitter now. Blame Sandy. I can update it from my phone!!!! No fear though, I won't abandon you blogpsot!

I realized now that I've been realizing a lot of things lately, and I've been realizing a lot while I run. My mind is like totally wandering about. Running in the rain doesn't work though. It was freezing and I couldn't stop thinking about getting back home. I ran faster though.

Appeals are due on the 15th. Get work done...

Dental/Floral

Today was my dentists appointment and the day before I am to do something pertaining flowers. Dentists sucked. I had two cavities on my left side, and it took maybe 45 minutes for them to get both. They gave me anesthesia, but they didn't warn me. It was like, "would you like anesthesia? The cavities are both small so it shouldn't hurt that much." and I was like HELL YEAH SHOOT ME UP and then they swabbed some numbing stuff (which I thought was the anesthesia) then all of a sudden a needle appeared and was stabbed into my cheek with no warning. My whole left cheek and gums was numbed up. It still kinda hurt though. Oh well.

Me madre bought me some yogurt at tartini's afterwards, yum yum.

The floral crap took forever. 2 hours of searching. I went to like 4 florists, and only 2 had the flowers I wanted, and one was a freakin' rip off. Asians. Conroy's was awesome. That place on Jackson next to Indy. Please stay alive stupid flowers.

Floating Thoughts and Plans

Before I went running today I was tying my shoes when I noticed how dirty they were. Things don't last that long.

I decided to run and workout every day this week in preparation for spring break. Spring break will be a whole week of eating out and being lazy. Socal trip!

Planning for thursday. Silly me.

I have a whole story to tell but I can't pull it out of my head right now...

Science, for Computers

Comp sci is irritating as hell. Seriously...from 4:30 until 10pm working on a FINISHED project. We finished every step, just hella shit wasn't working. I regret letting this class ruin my life.

Nice weather today though. 76 degrees Fahrenheit is perfect. Maybe 5mph wind to cool things down a bit.

Lin

he vampires sent me my blood donor card today. They spelled my last name wrong. I guess it's my fault for writing so small and crappy. Teachers have complained since the 2nd grade, and I even had a parent teacher conference 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade because my writing was so small. I cried at one I remember. Kregear made me rewrite my first essay becaues of my small handwriting. Bastard.

I'm blood type O. I'm freakin' special. If you ever need blood, get mine.

edit://I just googled my blood type, and I realized I'm screwed if I bleed. I can only take O type. Damn.

Arrivals

Looking back in my blog, I actually don't give real updates to my life, just when I buy stuff and go out. I'll try to blog more bloggable stuff and update you guys on things that are happenning in my life in the future.

But before that, I'm quite content today. Well, not really. As my only followers know, AP bio was quite the gym class. My body is sore. Beyond that, my shipments arrived today!

A batch of shirts from threadless and my order from Borders. Enjoy.

Yes, that's Sleeping Beauty. Yes, it's the 50th anniversary edition. And yes Audrey, it's Animal Farm.

I actually cleaned up my room today without my mom telling me to. Second time in like 2 months. I feel so mature now. And yes, that's a trouser rack from ikea in the back. Nifty way to hang jeans and shorts and such.

Wakey

Naps are wonderful. Headed out to eat today before though. Went to Chipotle off De Anza (Great Mall sucks.) and chilled, and only ate chips. I decided to weigh myself today, and at the cost of sounding girly, I lost 5 pounds. Pretty random. I guess running and working out is really working. Fun stuff.

Driving down 280 for me is always exciting in a sick sense. I always drive there really fast (80mph+) and wide awake and I always drive home half asleep. I almost died 3 or 4 times today because I nodded off or like blinked for a prolonged period. Protected.

Mommy got me unlimited texting <3

because the guy recommended it cuz I've been overtexting by like $20 each month. Ooops...

Impulse

Well I decided to actually go through with the impulse buy this time. Bought a Chris Botti CD. Saw it on the rack on sale for $14.99 and decided to buy it. Only after I bought it did I hear how amazing it was. Chris Botti is an amazing trumpeteer. Not only that but his concert was done with Yo Yo Ma, John Mayer, Sting (amazing jazz vocals), and a bunch of other artists with connections with blues and jazz.

Afterwards I walked out and my friend decided we should hit up Pinkberry, which was right across the crosswalk. We walk in and the first thing that hits me is "damn that cashier is hot". Yeah creeper status. Right when I look at her she looks up and me and our eyes meet. I wish this could've ended romantically, but to no avail. She quickly looks back down at the money she's supposed to be putting in the cashier's machine and I retreat to the corner of the store in fear of being awkward at the counter. Damn my creepness.

The froyo ended up being about $7. Pretty ridiculous, it being a small original flavor ($2.50) plus like 6 toppings, Oreos, chocolate chips, blueberries, strawberries, mochi balls, and coconut shavings. It was delicious. But I still like Tartinis better. 4:30 I decided to head home and finish up objectives. All 6 chapters that remain.

Assorted cell phone pictures.

Battle

Went to the EVHS battle of the classes Friday with some buds. I ended up helping a friend's club sell Jamba Juice. Again I wish I had my own camera instead of just having to time share with my Dad. Maybe I'll save up and get it after I get a lappy.

We had the most legit booth. Like once you walked in you would see some tables with crappy hand-made signs, then right there BAM you would see a massive canopy with legit Jamba Juice logos and a legit Jamba rep standing behind the counter. We sold out like 200 Jambas at $4 a pop with like and hour to go. Awesome.

On to the events. EV is really unspirited. Barely anyone cheered, and no one stood up. Even though it wasn't my school, I stilled cheered for '09 even though this year SUCKED due to the massive sucking of colleges. Can't spell suck without UC. Typical events, skits (which sucked except for the seniors). EV is rich on money but not in spirit. Tickets were like $20, shirts were $20-$22, and participants had to pay freakin $50 on top of that. Like WTF rich ass punks. They're gym was hella hella hella ridiculously well decorated, but that does not make up for unspirited skits with no emotion. I went in late and got in free cuz a friend hooked me up with a helper wristband but I had to sit in the alumni section between the freshies and sophties. The whole time me and some guys from UCSD were cheering '09 and booing everyone. It was fun. Some sophomores hella glared at us when we started chanting "Cheaters!" cuz the sophomores used extra people on tug of war.

I left early (10:45 pm being early) because all I really wanted to see was the senior skit. While I was heading to my car with some buds there was this huge (like 20 peeps) asian crowd gathering in the parking lot. It was like this one guy and his crew vs one dude. They were yelling and accusing him of messing up a friend's house and they were chanting "one on one!" and shit, and the guy alone was like "hell naw you got your crew with you this ain't fair" and other crap. He was hella backing up and the other guys in the crew were yelling "kick this nigguh's ass" "lezz jump this nigguh" and stuff. And eventually they met up one on one but the dude's girl (she was hella pretty) was crying and just like holding him back and stuff and he told her to get in the car and stuff cuz his car was like just sitting in the middle of the parking lot and they eventually backed off and drove away. Scary moment cuz I was just standing there watching and some of the guys were staring at me like "get the hell away".

Eventually I drove off and headed over to a friend's house to sleep over cuz I didn't want to drive home. We ended up eating ribs and garlic bread his mom made at like 11:30 and stayed up watching Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace until about 4 am. Slept for 5 hours, woke up, had awesome eggs and sausage and headed out for home 12ish.

Bond girls are pretty. Eva Green is hella pretty without makeup. Olga Kurylenko is not really that pretty. The story and acting in the second movie wasn't that great. It might've been because I was so tired, but from the reviews I read maybe not.

Now on to objectives. AP Bio test Wednesday(April fools please...) and only on chapter 42. I'm screwed.

Korea Tofu House

I went out to help some friends move into a new house. It was an epic adventure. We all said we'd show up at 4, then we all ended up showing up at 5:30, then 6:00, then 6:30. The moving part wasn't what was epic. We were helping pack up his computer room and stuff when we found a really old bop-it on his bookshelf. We took turns playing until it went really fast and like it started emitting this screeching static sound. It was demonic. It stopped after I smacked it a bit, but when we were loading stuff into my car it started it's cry again, so I ran to my front seat (where it was tucked) and I picked it up and I was about to smash that shit to hell when it all of a sudden stopped. Was it alive? Fast forward 15 minutes. We're on the road, and the demonic bop-it is under the passenger seat with my good friend Tom sitting shotgun. About 5 minutes out on the road it starts again. I yell "smash it on something!" and we look in vain around my car for something to hit it on. Just then we hit a red light and I suggest opening the door and smacking it on the ground, but right when I unlock my car it stops. Devious little thing. FF 5 more minutes, we're on the street, approaching the house when it starts again. It's evil call. So I say fuck it, and I tell Tom to toss it out the damn window, and he does, but somehow, it continues screeching, so I hit the breaks and perform a movie status U-turn and gas it and run it over. Only then does it stop.

Remarkably, it is still in one piece, albeit cracked all over. Rest in peace bop-it.

After moving everything into the new house, we are rewarded with free dinner. So we hit up Korea Tofu House in Cupertino Village and boy is it good. I wish I had a camera then to take a picture. We each got our own clay pot of delicious goods. The waitress ladies kept speaking Korean, and none of us understood, so we just nodded our heads. But we got around good. Now if only I remembered the name of the dishes...

btw, Korea House is so much better. I need to go out and eat Korean food with a Korean. Volunteers?

Wheez

Doc perscribed inhaler for my cough. Reminds me of my astham period in like elementary. Hitting it up twice every 6 hours. Gotta get rid of wheez.

Timmy the Tooth

Dentist today. I thought it would be boring and somewhat painful as usual, but I had a cool dentist dude this time. He was like late 20s or early 30s and he was born in the same area of LA as me. Also a Lakers fan. Half the time he was "talking" to me about the state of the lakers, Bynum's injury, what the Lakers were doing wrong, and how he loved Kobe. It would've been pretty awesome except he had his hands in my mouth the majority of the time, and he would ask me questions and I would be like "mffmmhhgggmm". I found out I have two cavities, and that happened without me eating candy for like the last year. Also gotta get my wisdom teeth pulled. Yay, chipmunk status. Maybe I'll sell my vicodin.

Oh and they built a new plaza right next to the area where my dentist is (which is in Cupertino) and they have a Red Mango right across the parking lot, so my mommy took me there right after. Tartinis is way better.

Sickening Thud

I went to school today for the first two periods and after coughing/sneezing/headacheing my way through those two classes, I decided to cell the parents and get the hell out of school. Being at home felt so much better. My dad spent the whole first hour of me being home yelling at me about not getting enough rest, waking up and walking to the shower in a beater and bball shorts, watching too much tv, etc. He told me to sleep, and I tried to tell myself to sleep, but to no avail. I ended up working out for like an hour then attempting to run. Running started off pretty good. Then the coughing came. After the first quarter mile I started coughing so bad my abs and diaphragm started acheing like crazy. I almost threw up, so I walked home and just sat down. Maybe I'll get back to objectives now.

Moon

Fly me to the moon. Frank Sinatra sang that. Nice song. Pretty song, pretty truthful. I guess back then love was more than get low and get drunk together and make love in a club. I sure hope that love won't be that shallow when I meet her.

Man this is depressing thinking about the future like that when my was and is being decided by these few weeks.

I realize now that I'm not that great with little kids. I sympathize too much with their contempt of authority figures as I was a smart ass when I was a kid. I just end up feeling like a hypocrite or undermining real authority.

I also need new socks. Maybe friday I'll head over to target or somewhere and pick up a few pairs of black socks or some socks that are more breathable for when I run. Nike ftw?

Patriotic

Mmmm the Patriot is a good movie. Father-son epics are crazy. The British are savage.

Crayons

I totally forgot to post this up. Thanks AT.

Me!

lauzzl and tinariffic.

Me.

Out.

Running out of interesting things to blog about. Last few days have been college hell. Rejections all around. Slaps in the face by invisible hands. Waiting still for a few. I need to run off my thoughts. 70 degrees, nice and sunny with a 16mph wind from NW.

I need to discover new music and maybe buy a few concert tickets. Stupid economy. Greedy bastards.

Application Status Pending...

Wonderful. I forget my UC login ID and password the weekend that they're basically all coming out. I called the IT dude twice (2!!!) and both times it took like 3 minutes, they spent like 2 1/2 of them asking me security questions (bday, schools applied to, address, etc) then 30 seconds to tell me they'll send an email with all my info. Twice I clicked refresh every 30 seconds for like an hour waiting for the email to arrive. Nothing. Maybe tomorrow. Or maybe suspense will be suspended until the letters arrive. What I do know so far is that Cal Poly SLO does not want me. At all. Oh well. Always UCDA.

Entertained.

Crazyass Russians. Think bungie rope jumping except without a bungie rope but a rope rope. Yep...

Listening to a lot of Frank Sinatra and other oldies lately. Man swing is amazing. How simple the lyrics. Today's songs are all "sex sex sex" "money money money" "ridin' on 22s" and all that. Where is the I love you?

Fail

Looking through failblog when I'm supposed to be doing objectives. Oh well.

Precipetation

Shooting in the rain is hard work, but fun. Due to the time constraints caused by stupid Jostens (who publishes our yearbook) we only had 1 week and 3 days to do our spread. That forced me to go to every practice and take pictures, enough for 4 pages. Here we go, fingers cold and numb, camera wet, thank God for hoods.

I really hate what blogspot does to my photos. The colors are so much more vibrant on my comp. Oh well, can't have the world.

Back to les objectives. Je n'aime pas. Je préférerais un sandwich au rôti de bœuf.

Under a Bridge

I blog at the behest of my supposed new bff Audrey

I extremely dislike objectives, ap bio, comp sci, and school right now. I promised myself that I wouldn't get senioritis or that I would resist, but I can't! It's a sick disease sucking me in. It's so appealing, like a hot chick on a hot day.

Can't wait til letters arrive. I don't ever want them to arrive.

GTR!!!

Holy crap. I just saw a freakin' Nissan Skyline GTR right next to my house. Like turning onto White toward Piedmont fromMabury. I was hella sleepy and driving when all of a sudden, appearing out of the rain was it. Dark grey and carbon fiber trim. Some fat dude was driving it though. I couldn't really tell cuz it was only a glimpse and the windows were tinted dark. Sexy. Can't believe someone in east side could afford to spend that kind of money on a car during a recession.

fix you

I realize that quite often when someone informs me (or I overhear...) of a problem, I start offering solutions. Solutions that make sense to me. And if I never had to deal with the problem or overcame that problem, I would become quite self righteous and basically look down on that person. I think I might need a personality overhaul. Sympathetic (can't make sympathetic without pathetic) aid, not prideful aid.

Oh went to swimming practice today to shoot for yearbook. I really wanted a Michael Phelps shot of someone doing the fly (for the non swim-term savvy, the butterfly stroke), and I got it kind of like half an hour into practice. I kind of made a side comment to the coach that swimming is really difficult to shoot yaddah yaddah and she replied "I can make them do the fly next, if that makes it easier for you." and I was like YEAHH.

Heavily photoshopped, increased exposure and contrast like crazy to get that coloring.

new shoes

Well, they came a day early. Thank you FedEx! Doing this post makes me feel like a shoehead, but I really like these shoes.

Arrival. It was like 4:02. I was sitting there doing my English essay when my dad alerts me to the arrival of the package.

Let the unpacking begin. When I finally got the stupid plastic off (without the help of scissors) I found a ton of ads. Be tou gh anyone?

Total shoehead status.

Ta...

Da!

Now 10 minutes of hydration and stretching before I go for a test run. Hopefully the weather will stay beautiful and above 60 degrees, fahrenheit.

run run run run

I went running today after about a week of non-running. Normally when I run all I think about it how tired I am, how sore some parts are, and what I'll do when I get back. Today was sort of different. I kind of let my imagination station run free. I ran to penitencia and back, which according to maps.google.com is about 1.6 miles. Once I hit white/piedmont road I just started daydreaming. A lot of things I don't remember ran through my head, a lot of farfetched wishes I would suppose. It was incredibly enjoyable. Maybe again tomorrow.

In other news, I found out that the Nike Zoom Victory running shoes I wanted were on sale. I ordered them online wednesdayish during break and they finally shipped over the weekend. FedEx says they'll be here by thursday. $99.99 on sale for $79.99 with $15 off for President's day minus $40 from a giftcard with $6.99 shipping and CA tax brings it out to about $34.62. Awesome deal.

Here are the kicks I've been running in since sophomore year. $10 at big 5 courtesy of my asian dad. Incredible that it lasted this long.

RAW format is too big for blogger, so:
Nikon D100 with Sigma EX DG 24mm-70mm lenses
1/60 at F/3.2 with flash (Nikon Speedlight SB-800)

H2O

The forecast is rain for the next few days. I really dislike rain, but it is so needed. California is way below rainfall.

Resolution: 5 minute showers until summer.

Sometimes when I shower for really long I start to think about all the water I'm wasting just to be comfortable for those 15 to 20 minutes. I start remembering all the National Geographic specials on how people in Africa have to walk 5 miles a day just to get water to drink.

Now I wonder, how is cutting my shower by 10 minutes gonna help people in Africa when the water I save is just sent down a canal to socal so some hollywood millionaire can take hour long baths?

10 days

10 days away from blogging. 10 days spent away from internet society. Time well spent. Tahoe was awesome. Pictures? Hit up google. Every single picture of Tahoe has been taken. Pictures can not convey experiences, only that 1/60 f/5.6 that it represents. Maybe I'll realize better in the future and share.

While we were there, it snowed like crazy. I heard back in the bay it was raining away. Tahoe was like all the christmas specials. Beautiful carpet of snow. You could see the actual snow flakes falling. Weatherman said 21 degrees, fahrenheit. I didn't bring any snow clothes however. Shoes: authentics and rainbows. Jackets: AA and some fox jacket. Pants? Jeans and a pair of bball shorts. No gloves either, but I still managed to have fun.

12 hour ride back was ridiculously ridiculous. 12 hour ride. 12 hours talking. 12 hours of snow. 12 hours of random games. 12 hours of sleep. Weeks passed in that bus.

Don't let oppurtunities be wasted.

sue she

Life from the eyes of a sushi going around and around the sushi conveyor belt. Sad sushi.

The music is very saddening. But sushi is awesome. They should've stuck it in a piece of sushi and let people eat it to see how the life of sushi really is.

deny

Well the family went to denny's today to celebrate the padre's bday. It was kind of a formality thing since we normally go to a real sit down restaurant, but this year was different. My mom took a bunch of pictures, but I'm too lazy to get at them. We went at six, and everyone except my mom was starving. My dad got a philly cheese steak with seasoned fries. I got breakfast, a heartland scramble, and my sister got shrimp skewer. My mom got a zesty nachos appetizer for all to share. That thing was oily as hell. The pancakes were awesome. The eggs and bacon weren't so great. The hash browns however, tasted awesome. They looked just like the pictures too.

Well, Radiohead (or only Thom and Johnny) and the USC marching band did 15 step at the grammy awards. It was pretty damn good.

CLICKETYCLICKCLICK

Sucks that the rest of the band didn't want to or couldn't make it over. Would've rocked even more. Coldplay won like twenty grammy awards for viva la vida (album and song). They did it live, then the song was played every single time they were nominated. It got really really annoying. It's like if you watched the trippy apple commercial with them in it over and over and over again. Kanye was pretty cool. He did American Boy with Estelle, wasn't that great, and there was a crazy TI/Kanye/Lil Wayne/Jay-Z rap that went a long with MIA and that pineapple express song.

Anyways, youtube recommended this for me and I clicked it, and now I feel sick when I think and probably when I see chipotle. Damn you youtube.
So, I heard Radiohead is playing at the grammies with the USC marching band. 15 step. I am so watching. Maybe I'll find it on youtube and link it here later after the show. BTW, Lakers kicked the Cavs in the nuts. 6-0 streak anyone?

Today was an off day. School was off due to the normal schedule. The whole week had been like 3 hours of school, then comes Friday with like 7 hours of school. I was really tired from lack of sleep. Right after crappy school I headed over to Cupertino to pick up some friends and go watch them do battle of the bands at MV. Everyone had like a full band, and everyone SUCKED except like 3 of the bands. The only bands that did good were (coincidentally) the bands that did NOT do that crazy death metal shit. The band that won number 1, Stifled, had like 3 electric guitarists, a bassists, a keyboardist, a drummist, and a singist. They were oddly the most coordinated band, even though the vocals sucked. Second was some band I missed cuz I went to the bball game vs. Santa Teresa or something. Third was pals Silas and Jacob, who did the only session with only two acoustic guitars and vocals. Vocals were bomb. They covered Filled With Your Glory by Starfield and Oppurtunities by Pete Murray. I took a video, but it was with someone else's camera and I think it'll be up on the tube of you soon, so maybe I'll link it. During the voting session a band that didn't play before came up and did a French love song, some radio song, and Lucky by Jason M-razz. The chick (Kat I think) had the most amazing voice ever. Too bad they messed up her mike at the beginning and the dude vocals just couldn't match it. She needs to American Idol it.

In other news, I headed to tartini's (froyo) afterwards and ate some good ass froyo. Mango tart anyone? I finally got a stamp card full, with the help of like 6 people on like 3 trips. Next time my yogurt will be free.

I bought tickets with some friends to see Wicked at the Orpheum theater in SF in June, right after grad. Too bad Idena Menzel and the other chick stopped touring. They are crazy good singers. Looking forward to it.

Only for you, Audrey. Color accents are fun.

Well, I'm in a selfish mood right now, so I'm gonna list the things I've been thinking about getting but will probably not get until summer. I wish I were more thankful for the things I already have. Maybe some other blog post.

iPod shuffle (or the like)
Ever since I put my first gen nano in the wash 3 years ago, I haven't had a portable music player. I miss running with music. Now all I hear are my raspy, wet breaths, my heart complaining, and my mind wandering aimlessly. Since I'll probably end up smashing it, I'm thinking of picking up a refurbed one from the Apple store for like $40. Then I need running headphones, which are like $30.

Oakley Gascans (or maybe something cheaper but just as good looking)
Ever since I started driving I wanted/needed sunglasses. The sun, ever so warming and wonderful, is annoying/dangerous as hell when I'm driving. Anyone got $90 to spare?

Macbook (or something cheaper so the parents won't take such a big hit)
After going all over the place to study for comp sci without a laptop I felt that I needed one. But I don't really, so I'm perfectly fine waiting for one later in summer before I ship off to college (hope that I get in...). $1800 anyone?

Over and out.

Fight club was a genius movie. I still love it. Never gets old. It seems scary as fuck to be schizophrenic.

supabowl

Steelers won today. Santonio Holmes with the winning touchdown catch with like 39 seconds left on the clock. Beast of a game. Superbowl party was fun. Ate way too much New York steak and WAY too many oreos. Yummmm plus I drank soda, which I haven't since like summer. Bummer. Good part was I unknowingly drank diet for like half the time. No wonder it tasted so funky.

This year, there weren't many good superbowl commercials. Last year was awesome. The only good one was the LMAO(zedong) one.

A HUNDRED DOLLAR BILLS?!

Watching Mythbusters super hero myths. AWESOME!

"97 degrees, you're fine"

I really hate blogging sometimes. It feels so much like an assignment sometimes, like "I HAVE TO UPDATE MY FRIENDS ON MY LIFE!"

I went to target today after school. I wanted to buy a new water bottle (or "canteen" as singharaj calls it) since the lip on my old one cracked. Save the earth. Be environmental. Screw the plastic waterbottles. Valentines day always makes me depressed. Target was valentinesdayized. One whole corner was turned into Valentines day central and all the cards were valentized. Well back to business. I picked up a metal one, the perfect one, for about $12. Met singharaj there on a secret mission. Then back to home.

News flash! Well, I've been sick with the cough and the snot and the sneeze and the headache for about a week now, and when I was going through one of my gross coughing fits today, my mom got worried and made a doctors appointment for me at 6:45 today. I showed up like half an hour early to hopefully get an early spot and get out of there fast. No such luck. Seems that the entire world is suffering from the coughs and snot and the sneeze and the headache (otherwise known as the common flu). So, after about an hour waiting in the waiting room (sick bastards) the nurse brought me out of that disgusting room full of sick kids and into a sterile room, where I waited another hour before the doctor arrived. She was not my normal doctor, who went on call. Short Indian lady, heavy on the accent. It took about 5 minutes for her to go through the normal procedure. Check the temperature, perfectly normal, check the ear, normal, check the mouth, normal, then the stuff with the stethoscope, I coughed a few times, pretty normal other than the cough. So after 2 hours of waiting, she gives me some inhaler crap to deal with the cough and tells me to get rest and drink plenty of fluids. It should go away in a week is the pronunciation. So I guess I'm going to bed at 11 and hopefully I'll get fine over the weekend.

So I'm hearing rumors that the next unit in AP bio has a 200 question objectives part. Too lazy to check up schoolloop.

And after watching mythbusters on Chong's iPod, I've become an addict. DLing seasons 1-6 right now. Doubt I'll ever watch it all.
