I went out to help some friends move into a new house. It was an epic adventure. We all said we'd show up at 4, then we all ended up showing up at 5:30, then 6:00, then 6:30. The moving part wasn't what was epic. We were helping pack up his computer room and stuff when we found a really old bop-it on his bookshelf. We took turns playing until it went really fast and like it started emitting this screeching static sound. It was demonic. It stopped after I smacked it a bit, but when we were loading stuff into my car it started it's cry again, so I ran to my front seat (where it was tucked) and I picked it up and I was about to smash that shit to hell when it all of a sudden stopped. Was it alive? Fast forward 15 minutes. We're on the road, and the demonic bop-it is under the passenger seat with my good friend Tom sitting shotgun. About 5 minutes out on the road it starts again. I yell "smash it on something!" and we look in vain around my car for something to hit it on. Just then we hit a red light and I suggest opening the door and smacking it on the ground, but right when I unlock my car it stops. Devious little thing. FF 5 more minutes, we're on the street, approaching the house when it starts again. It's evil call. So I say fuck it, and I tell Tom to toss it out the damn window, and he does, but somehow, it continues screeching, so I hit the breaks and perform a movie status U-turn and gas it and run it over. Only then does it stop.
Remarkably, it is still in one piece, albeit cracked all over. Rest in peace bop-it.
After moving everything into the new house, we are rewarded with free dinner. So we hit up Korea Tofu House in Cupertino Village and boy is it good. I wish I had a camera then to take a picture. We each got our own clay pot of delicious goods. The waitress ladies kept speaking Korean, and none of us understood, so we just nodded our heads. But we got around good. Now if only I remembered the name of the dishes...
btw, Korea House is so much better. I need to go out and eat Korean food with a Korean. Volunteers?
