Scabs

I hate my stupid habit of picking scabs. I picked out 3 today and bled all over myself.

Econ notecards, English notecards, NBRs, all DONE. Most work I've done in a weekend in a long while.

Up

Up was an awesome movie. I wish I better/more/better adjectives. I need to expand my vocabulary. It was supposed to be my "birthday" thing with Kathy and Yvonne but some people ended up joining late. We wanted to watch the 3D version but when I checked online they sold out all the times except the 12:25am showing by 7pm. Crazy shit. When I got there the line stretched from the movie entrance all the way outside and around. It was crazy long. We ended up watching the normal version at 10:30.

I kept ruining the movie for Kathy. I totally predicted some stuff that I wont spoil for you guys that didn't watch it, but it was hilarious. Crazy inside jokes now.

OH and the Pixar short that they always do before their movie was ovation-worthy. It just keeps getting better. The Birds one was aight, the Alien Test Drive one was cool, but this was even better. Won't spoil it again though. Go watch it!

lucky

I hate my luck. I wish I was Irish. Maybe I'll be more lucky.

Henry's Hi-Life

Had my eyes checked today. I don't know if I ever said this, but my optometrist is pretty. Not hot status, not really "cute", but pretty. She looked like she was in her 20s but she was like 5'3".

Gramma came to visit for a week or two. All the way from socal. Yay!

Went out to eat with the fams for the bday since my mom and dad had work the night of my bday. Went to this place downtown right next to HP Pavilion (where jobros and Rod Stewart will be performing at in August apparently). Driving down that side street totally reminded me of 8th grade grad. Me with my spiky hair and braces. Oh man....

We found out about the place, Henry's Hi-Life after my dad saw it on travel channel. It's located in this hella ghetto ass area right behind HP Pavilion, but it's pretty high class inside. It was a bar/bbq and I ended up watching a part of the third quarter of the Cavs-Magic game (damn you Lebron) before being seated. The food was awesome. They have an open bbq so you can see the chef dude cook and the bread is fresh made in the oven right in the room. The salad was so-so. The bread was amazing. It was some thin bread with olive oil or something. Scrumptious. I got a full rack of baby back ribs with my dad and my mom and gramma shared a ribs and chicken plate while the sister got a fettucini or something. Ribs were amazing. Perfect texture, but not enough sauce in my opinion, but still good. The baked potato was crazy. Instead of the normal pile of sour cream, onions, butter, and bacon bits they used this chive butter that was *insert adjective synonymous with amazing*. Had plenty left over even though we all shared. Mmmmmm

Chop

Got an ugly ass haircut. I've never gotten a good one ever. Maybe I should just get a fade.

XVIII

I'm 18. I'm gonna go buy some stuff that 18 year olds can buy. Hopefully they'll card me and I can say "NIGGUH CHECK THIS OUT!" and flash them my ugly ass driver's license. Hello scratchers, cigarettes, and porn.

Rock Band BBQ

Had some fun today. Played volleyball and some football at Rainbow park. I got 2 bug bites on my arm. That's what I get for laying in the grass. Afterwards I went to a bbq at a friend's place. Played Rock Band from 8 - 11. 3 good solid hours. After a while playing some medium and hard modes, I decided we should all expert it on a song and we ended up doing Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. It took us around 6 tries before we got it all down. I pretty much ended up memorizing the guitar part. 94% YEAH! I'm such a loser. I tried doing both the singing and guitar part for All the Small Things by Blink 182 but I failed. I hated Guitar Hero, but somehow I end up liking Rock Band. Maybe it's because there's more people involved. Or it's sparking my childhood dream of becoming an awesome rock star and being rich and famous. Or maybe I was bored.

On the way home getting off McKee and Capitol there were probably 20 cops blocking the entire right side of McKee near El Baron Rojo (that one Mexican bar on the corner). I couldn't see what was happening but there was a box of police cars around some cars and a group of people. Drunk brawl gone bad? Maybe. Scary though. Reminds me how ghetto east side is...

Flashback to yesterday. I went out to eat soul food. Some place down in Sunnyvale called H. Butler's BBQ. All black people in there. The lady was hella nice. She was this big black lady with that accent. When she talked to us it felt like we were part of the big black family or something.

The food was pretty damn good but there wasn't that much for what you pay for. Fried catfish, some wings, and some ribs with corn muffins and fries. The wings were awesome, but dry. Same with the ribs. You pretty much had to lather everything in BBQ sauce.

Food escapades!

Regrets

I hate regretting things. I always regret it. It's an endless cycle. Maybe I should just not be lazy and make good choices in the first place. Oh well.

I've totally fallen behind in music. I used to be an addict, scanning artist pages and downloading the latest music. I'm still somewhat of an audiophile (just without the budget to be a legit one), but I've stopped illegally downloading music. Someday I'll catch up. In the meantime (is that really a word?) I guess I'll brush up on classics.

Oddly I've also gotten a little bit more into art. I used to hate art. Mainly because I couldn't draw for shit. I was the prototypical "engineer" type artist. I drew things with straight lines and right angles. I used to love drawing cars. I loved drawing buildings. I found an old ass sketchbook from around 5th grade with about 15 pages of sketches. Man did I suck. I'm thinking maybe I'll pick it up again and try.

I really hate the "independent" people. The people who claim to be anti-mainstream but promote their own version of mainstream which they call independent but is actually mainstream. It really really pisses me off when they claim an artist that no one knows as the best and that the popular artist with skills isn't just because everyone knows them. Fuck yeah John Mayer can play guitar. Just because he wrote Daughters doesn't make him a pussy. Yeah, Ray Lamontagne is good too.

Remission?

Dug deep into my picture archives. Road trip to Tahoe with some guys. According to the news it was one of the worst snow storms ever. Epic drive. Didn't get there until 3am.

Study

Went to "study" and help Christina and Kathy with the comp sci make up test today. At first we were supposed to be at Kathy's by 6, but Kathy and I both ended up taking a nap. I woke up at 6ish and ended up getting to Christina's by 6:30. Kathy knocked out and didn't wake up until 7ish, so I chilled at Christina's until that time watching her eat. Sounds stalker.

Went to Kathy's and ended up watching the Lakers play the Nuggets while half studying. Did some econ. I didn't realize it was 9 until we went on a starbucks trip. It was supposed to be a grab and go, but we met some people who will remain unnamed there. Got me a triple shot espresso just for the hell of it and now I'm all twitchy but I think I can sleep. I'm gonna try after giving blood since I almost fainted today. FLASHBACK MOMENT!

So today I got my pass to donate blood 3rd period. Mrs. Childs wouldn't let me out until the time on the paper (10:15) so I had to sit in class for 10 minutes reading a stupid short story. Last time I went I ended up spending 2 hours waiting in the interview line, but this time I went earlier and I got it done fast. Since my name was spelled wrong on the records for the Blood Centers info thingy that I did last time, they couldn't find my records from last time when I gave her the license. I then gave her my Blood Centers card and she started tsking me and giving me this huge ass lecture about how small handwriting will screw up my future. Good thing I had my caprisun to distract me.

Onto the blood sucking: The lady that did it really sucked. She missed the first time sticking the needle in. I didn't notice since I was distracted by my phone, and I only noticed when I heard the faint "oops". Not good. I turned and she pulled it slightly out, wiggled it, and pushed it in the other direction. It hurt a little and my heart started RACING. Like crazy. I got hella dizzy and I felt crazy tired in about 30 seconds, and they told me it was my body's natural reaction when something goes wrong when you are stabbed with something. Story of my life.

Back to the present: not supposed to reveal names here, but what happened was after 30 minutes @ sbucks we left and headed back to Kathy's for more study and some guy followed us half way. He like stopped and shut off his lights everytime we stopped at a light. It was hella scary. I got hella paranoid. Anyways I'm gonna try to sleep early. Replenish my lost energy. Maintain homeostasis.

Dear Blood Donor,

My name is Natalie and I am writing to thank you for helping save my life.

At eight months old, I was diagnosed with leukemia.  During my first six weeks of chemotherapy, I received 27 units of blood and underwent a bone marrow transplant.  Today, thanks to the successful bone marrow transplant from my sister, Nicole, and the generosity of blood donors, I am able to resume an active life.

Sincerely,

Natalie

A Grateful Blood Recipient

Blood Donors have an important role in saving countless lives like Natalie, as you may know, every three seconds, someone needs blood.

Blood Centers of the Pacific needs to collect approximately 140,000 pints of blood each year fromvolunteer blood donors.  About half of the blood collected comes through our mobile blood drives from groups like yours.

Whoo 100 points! I wonder what I could get with that...

Cluck You

My internet got messed up last night when I was writing this at 11:30ish so I guess I have to post it today. Imagine it like yesterday.

Had an ortho today. Only for an x-ray though. Normally I sit in the waiting room for like 20 minutes to an hour waiting for some damn kids to be done then it gets to be my turn, but today since it was an early day (awesome) I headed in at around 2 and got in no problem. Walked right in. They threw on this heavy lead (I assume) vest to protect my important body parts (I guess my brain isn't that important) from the crazy radioactive energy that they were about to bombard me with.

The machine they used was one of those things you only see in tv med dramas like House or ER. I had to stand and bite onto this thingy to keep my teeth in perfect position, then I had to position my forhead on this headrest to keep posture and they adjusted this thingy (for lack of better word) to my height and then told me to stand absolutely still or I was screwed. Everyone left the room and someone pressed a button and all of a sudden this array started rotating around my head making crazy ass noises and I hoped that I would attain some super power while imagining everything going wrong. Afterwards they pretty much kicked me out.

Fantasia was playing in the waiting room.

Afterwards I had about 2 hours to kill before Bonnie would swing by and take me out to Cluckies, now called Smoke Eaters (WTF?!) for helping her with econ test index cards. I did it for free for Daniel twice, but since she offered I would feel bad (NOT) if I turned her down. Since it was Thursday we had tenders, and boy were they good. First time with the tenders. Every time I've been there I've had the wings. I guess I have a new favorite. Honey mustard sauce was so much better than traditional.

Spent around an hour there. Service was surprisingly fast. Normally it takes forever to get seated due to the mass of college people from SCU, but this time was different. I guess since it was only 6. Watched the Celtics - Magic game and some hockey and caught up with Bonnie on happenings. Girls gossip 24/7. Right afterwards we decided to pay a surprise visit to Kathy at her new job. On the way Bonnie spotted a 7-11 and yelled out something about a craving for a slurpee and we got some. She treated so I got a big one (which I didn't finish and ended up tossing). Mmmmm Apocalypse Orange is good.

Showed up at the cheese steak place and Kathy didn't spot us, so I decided to walk and up order really loudly. I got some onion rings, and she didn't notice at first and while I was looking down looking for cash she screamed really loudly which scared the shit out of me and all the customers and ran to the back. Hehe. The hella beaner coworker (found out he was named Ivan) had the classic WTF look on his face.

Chilled for about an hour and headed home.

In real today, bbq during Luc. I totally forgot there was going to be a bbq, so I ate a big breakfast and I ended up eating a burger, a hotdog, and half of Lynna's hotdog cuz she couldn't finish it. Mr. Luc put up Marley and Me for people to watch, but most people ended up outside conversationalizing or inside watching the nerds play Left 4 Dead. I am so down to play that now. Sucked in.

Oh and Jennifer Anniston is still pretty. Sucks that she's old and smokes a pack a day. Damn you nicotine.

Played basketball during 6th to work off those burgers and also the food from clucks. Did terrible. Can't guard Fred for shit. Spent 7th in Aberle's watching them play again. It was like some crazy asian internet cafe with 5 laptops and a huge crowd or physics nerds watching it. They even cheered. Aberle, Ken Cheng, and the super nerds were playing dungeons and dragons. I spent my time talking to Kathy or watching people play. Not so fun but I needed to cool down. Aberle had this small fan going and I commandeered to enhance the evaporation of the sweat coming out of my pores to reduce my inner temperature. Yeah. That's what I got from ap bio all year.

JD

Yay 2 days after prom.

After prom party wasn't even a party. It ended up being a chill hang out thing with a bunch of 08 people. "Practiced" beer pong since I was dd and couldn't drink. Watched college lacross highlights cuz espn was the only channel that worked on the tv. Pillow fighted the fuck out of Justin.

Me and some people got the munchies at like 2 am so I ended up driving Marcus, Yvonne, and Justin around searching for a McDonalds, except the closest one was closed. I drove all the way to Carls Jr and we all got some stuff to go. Carls Jr fries are pretty damn good. Chilled with Sandy for a bit and left around 4am (planned on leaving at 3, but someone had to start yakking and crying so I had to wait for them). Drove Yvonne home and got home late. I walk in with all the lights on and everyone asleep. I just knocked out and had to wake up early to take my mom out to Elephant Bar. Got mom a card signed by all of the family, but no roses this year. Elephant Bar is excellent. Got the shrimp platter (it had a really festive name, but I forget right now) and it was loaded. 15 srhimp total. Hella good. Now I need to run it off.

Trekkie

I feel so nerd, but I went to watch Star Trek on opening night. It wasn't preplanned. Someone called me up at like 5:00pm asking if we wanted to watch Star Trek, and I decided to go. Went to the 7:00pm showing. I totally expected a legion of Star Trek fans all dressed up, but the only people dressed up were these two hella nerdy white guys that dressed up as Jedis.

The movie was pretty good. Action was intense, but I was totally lost during most of the story and inside jokes. They had a LOT of inside jokes. I mean even during the intensest action scene Scotty would shout a line and everyone would laugh except me. I guess that's what I get for that being my first ever Star Trek experience. Eric Bana did not look like Eric Bana, and every time Sulu (John Cho) had a line or was on screen I kept imagining Harold and Kumar scenes. Same with Spock (Sylar in Heroes). I just imagined him killing heroes from the first season.

One of the most incongrous (I totally do not know what that means right now, but it sounds right) moments in the movie was when Kirk was having this half naked makeout session in some dorm room of the space academy or whatever, and the girl he's making out with's roommate turns the light on and the chick he's making out with is a green chick. I was totally WTFed out. I have nothing against interacial, but interplanetary shit is crazy.

Oh yeah, there was this hella annoying fat old (late 40s early 50s?) guy that just wouldn't shut up. At first it was cool. He cracked a few jokes during the previews and stuff when everyone was talking anyways, but during moments in the movie he yelled stuff like "SPPPOOOOCCCKKKKK!!!!!" and tried to say something and it was pissing me off. At the end he yelled out "On a scale of 1 to 10 what do you guys rate this movie?" which elicited many responses. Some guys kept yelling 11, the guys dressed as Jedis stood up and kept saying "May the force be with you" to which some other guy responded "It's 10 years late dumbass" and then finally some guy in the back back row shouted out "Shut the FUCK up" which everyone basically did. Some little kids (middle school? elementary?) were like "yeah, shut up!" and the annoying dude kept saying "I kept quiet during the movie, honest guys!".

Other than that it was pretty good. Since my friend bought the ticket for me and lined up before hand I pretty much just walked into the theater without a ticket. The lady totally missed me and everyone (surprisingly) made space for me to walk up to the front of the line. If I return it I get a Golden Ticket, which means I can watch any movie for free. Should I be a cheapskate and do it or be honest?

Collage

I guess I'll make this a counter to Johnny's post.

I'm pretty not excited about De Anza. Yeah, it's not bad at all. Top community college in the United States, located in Cupertino where there are some great froyo places and it's not ghetto. I'm just pretty peeved that I made some stupid decisions in high school. Snapping up hard classes was a stupid choice. I could blame the Asian parents, but they were off that after sophomore year so it was all me "challenging" myself.

-Gotta take summer courses (Math and Counseling 100 for sure)
-Get my TAG done so I don't become some lame ass jc kid that takes 3 years.
-Get my ass in gear so I get out ASAP

I'm happy I'm saving my parents a TON of money I guess, but just missing out on the first two years of college 'experience' is kind of making me sad. Sticking at home for the next two years doesn't sound that fun.

Hindsight is a bitch.

Tax?

Stupid recession. Stupid Arnold messing up the state of California. Stupid call today said we had to go to school because there was no swine flu. Oh well.

L & L

Went to Christina's to study for comp sci ap. Ended up going to L & L's Hawaiin bbq (finally...) to get some chicken katsu. Yumm. I had to cover everyone, and I ended up breaking a freakin benjamin for a $15 meal. Kathy owes me $5.25 + tax,  paid back in a meal. Bio objectives all night long.

I was in a mood for hip-hop, but it swung back to the rock type music. Strokes it is.
